Connectopedia

While we drilled down to find Zargoid 5, who had accidentally danced into a sudden hole that had appeared in my mine, I decided it would be good to get in touch with ASJIOFJNOSDNFNDSUNDS ONGFONKJGNKBUYWENJNCINSIUNDXW to find out how he was getting on. So, I decided to call him.
However, as robots aren’t always the best conversationalists and this was a long drilling operation I thought it would be good to ensure I had something else to do while calling him. Usually in this situation I would use my IronMeet, but the inside of a drill isn’t the ideal location for flattening linen, so instead I used Connectopedia.
What is Connectopedia? It is a combination video phone call device and encyclopaedia of course. It is ideal for group learning situations, when you can dial up information on any topic, from Ancient Egypt to Gerbils and have fun learning about topics together. It is also ideal if you want to phone somebody a little bit boring and learn about something else at the same time as talking to them.
Right after I called ASJIOFJNOSDNFNDSUNDS ONGFONKJGNKBUYWENJNCINSIUNDXW and we agreed that tropical fish would be a good topic to learn about together while drilling, ASJIOFJNOSDNFNDSUNDS ONGFONKJGNKBUYWENJNCINSIUNDXW suggested that we might want to add Zargoid 5 to the call too as we both knew Zargoid 5 was particularly interested in tropical fish.
When he answered the phone, he seemed to be a little agitated that we had called him to discuss warm water animals of any type instead of rescuing. When we reassured him that we were learning and rescuing him at the same time he immediately took control of the Connectopedia and started showing us a fish he particularly liked which was called a Sarcastic Fringehead.
Unfortunately for Zargoid 5 moments after he started telling us all about the Sarcastic Fringehead we rescued him meaning he was never able to tell us all about ram suction feeding or variability in daily foraging time. I’ve never seen a robot so upset to be rescued.

Once we got back to the top of the sudden hole, Zargoid 5 tried to keep telling us all about it, but we decided that the moment had passed and with us all in person we luckily couldn’t keep using the Connectopedia. The biggest drawback of the Connectopedia is if one person hogs the controls and doesn’t let you do a three hour lecture about gerbils.
Do you sometimes get bored on calls? Of course you do… you’re on them. Do you need to learn everything about Gladiators and Blobfish while talking to your Grandma? Then you need Connectopedia… today!
Note to self: Maybe think about having a multi control Connectopedia… do you all have to be learning about the same thing at the same time?
